Omarion Speaks

Monday, March 26, 2007

ICEBOX is Omarion's current hit single. It's one of the most requested songs and videos. I was able to catch up with Omarion to discuss his latest CD "21" while filming his latest movie.

Shelia Goss: How's the movie you're working on coming along?

Omarion: Everything is wrapped up and ready to go. I got two films coming out (Somebody Help Me & Reggaeton).

Shelia: Congrats. 2007 is a busy year for you already.
Omarion:
2007 is going to be a beautiful year.

Shelia: Your previous album did well. Did you feel any pressure with 21?
Omarion:
Yes, of course a little, but the man upstairs brought me through. I consider 21 my most personal album and my best work. It's been getting great feedback. You always want to know it was a good album, even if nobody goes out and get it.

Shelia: Who all did you work with on 21?
Omarion:
I worked with Bryan Michael Cox, The Underdogs, Eric Hudson, Pharrell and Timberland. This is by far my most personal album. Out of twelve of the songs, I wrote eight. I'm getting my pen game up with writing a little bit.

Shelia: Do you feel like you’re competing with other male artists, such as the Chris Browns, & Ne-yo’s?
Omarion:
No. Competing on the charts. Everyone competes on the charts because there is only one number one record. I feel like as an artist, I have my own style… I have my style of dancing and the way I perform that sets me apart.

Shelia: Do you have time for a relationship?
Omarion:
No, I don't have time for a relationship unfortunately. I'm really just laying my foundation right now.

Shelia: I was watching Dr. Phil recently and there was a person on the show who was a groupie to the point of being a stalker. Do you ever come across any fans who cross the line?
Omarion:
Sometimes I meet some really outrageous people, but for the most part, they are all cool. I try to have a cool relationship with my fans.

Shelia; How was your experience on Jennifer Lopez's new dance show?
Omarion:
It was cool. Didn't have to do much but just be real.

Shelia: Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans before you go?
Omarion:
I love you guys. Thank you for all of your support. Keep God first and that's what's up.
