Isley Brother’s Baby Makin’ Music CD Review
By e-Spire Guest Writer N. Elaine Hogan

If I asked you to say the first thing that comes to mind when you think of The Isley Brothers, you would probably say longevity; a few might would say social awareness, but the majority of people would say baby makin’ music. Well after more than 50 years of providing the world with great music, The Isley Brothers are back with their new CD “Baby Makin’ Music.” The single “Blast Off” is a hit about loving that takes you into the clouds without the aid of NASA. R. Kelly makes a guest appearance on this single, but Mr. Kelly does not distract you from Ronald Isley’s signature vocals. The single "Just Came Here to Chill" is about leaving the bling behind, the alter egos like “Mr. Biggs” and just being yourself. It’s about relaxing and having a good time with the one you’re loving. Listeners shouldn’t worry though; there are tracks that cause for lingerie, scented candles and dimming the lights. Songs like “Gotta Be With You,” “Give It To You,” and “Heaven Hooked Us Up” have Isley seduction stamped all over them. With Ron’s vocals and Ernie on the guitar and background vocals, this CD is a delight to listen to. The Isley Brothers continue to be “Forever Mackin”.

Young crooners should pay close attention because The Isley Brothers are the standard by which R&B should be measured.
