The Long Blondes “Weekend Without Make Up”
U.S. Digital Single Online June 20, 2006
Rough Trade America is releasing a digital-only Long Blondes single, “Weekend Without Makeup” on June 20th, one day after the single hits the streets in the UK. The US digital version will include all four tracks from the maxi-single, sparing eager Americans the wait and cost of imports.
The Long Blondes are already a sensation in the UK, having earned riotous acclaim from critics and fans alike. Combining Blondie’s disco fantasies with the seedy glamour of Pulp, the Long Blondes are sexy, literate, flippant, and heartbreaking all at once.
They kicked off 2006 as recipients of the NME Philip Hall Radar Award (previously won by Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs)
and played to increasingly frenzied crowds as everyone from the Guardian to Vogue lavished the blushing Blondes with praise.
The band includes sardonic style icon and protagonist-in-chief
Kate Jackson, guitarist Dorian, bassist Reenie, guitarist/keyboardist Emma, and drummer Screech, aptly named for his resemblance to Saved by the Bell’s geek icon.
It’s a Blonde, Blonde, Blonde world. And this is only a taste.
U.S. Digital Single Tracklisting:
1. Weekend Without Makeup
2. Platitudes
3. Last Night On Northgate Street
4. Fulwood Babylon
