Laurel Canyon Book Review
Tuesday, June 06, 2006
For rock music buffs, Laurel Canyon by Michael Walker is worth the read. Laurel Canyon was an area of Los Angeles that you would find many of the classic rock stars such as Joni Mitchell, the Eagles, or Frank Zappa. The author skillfully gives an account of what happened during this era for those of us who weren’t there to experience it first hand.
This book will appeal to rock n roll fans who are interested in knowing what goes on with their favorite rockers when they’re not on stage. If I were a music instructor and discussed this genre, I would recommend it as a book to read. For the average reader, however, you may find yourself picking it up and putting it down. But once you finish reading it, you will feel more enlightened on the rock and pop culture.
