Mr Wootay Gutta Music

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Soon when you think of rappers from the south, you'll add Shreveport, Louisiana to the list. These rappers add some spice to the already flavorful array of rappers from places such as New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston or Dallas. Keep an eye out on these up and coming rappers from the 318. One that's doing his thing is Mr. Wootay. He calls his style Gutta Music.

Shelia Goss: When did you start rapping?
MRWOOTAY:
I'm not going to lie about it. I really was fumbling with it all of my life. But when Master P & No Limit Records, it really inspired me to do it.

Shelia: When folks think of rappers from Louisiana, they automatically think of New Orleans. How do you plan on changing that?
MRWOOTAY:
I got to. I'm from Shreveport "DA PORT CITY." Although N.O. is doing their thing, I got The City on my back. It's all on me to bring my city out.

Shelia: Tell me about some of your current projects.
MRWOOTAY:
I'm working hard on my new album "DA RETURN OF DA GUTTA KING." I got a whole lot of tracks already done, but I'm pushing for a distribution deal to help get the album out there.

Shelia: Who are some of the artists you've worked with?
MRWOOTAY:
UNTAME MAYNE, BIGG BOY, and MY HARDNOCC RECORDZ FAMILY

Shelia: How long does it take you to record one song?
MRWOOTAY:
15 minutes

Shelia: How do you categorize your sound?
MRWOOTAY:
GUTTA MUSIC--it's me.

Shelia: What can listeners expect when they pick up one of your CDs?
MRWOOTAY:
They'll be getting me, my life & story.

Shelia: How would an artist interested in working with you be able to contact you?
MRWOOTAY:
By phone (318-518-5882), email: MRWOOTAY@sport.rr.com or www.myspace.com/MRWOOTAY

Shelia: How can readers purchase CDs you've worked on?
MRWOOTAY:
Hit me up. I got cha.
