WIND-UP RECORDS, 20TH CENTURY FOX AND MYSPACE.COM ANNOUNCE UNDISCOVERED BAND CONTEST FOR UPCOMING FEATURE FILM JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE

Grand prize winner’s song eligible for inclusion in both the movie and soundtrack.

New York, NY – Starting April 6th, unsigned artists will have a shot at their big break by submitting their music for an online contest on the leading social networking and lifestyle portal, MySpace.com. The winning band’s song will be eligible for inclusion in the movie and on the soundtrack to JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE. The grand prize winner will be chosen on May 26th by a panel of celebrity judges and music executives. Wind-up Records will award a $10,000 production budget to the winner for professional re-recording, mixing, and mastering of the winning song. The ten finalists will each win a Gibson electric guitar.

In 20th Century Fox’s JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE three popular girls from different cliques discover they've all been dating the same school stud when they decide not to get mad but to get even! Despite this ladies man’s charm and ever-growing popularity, the girls enlist the inconspicuous new girl to help cook up a clever scheme to ruin his reputation and break his heart. This summer’s hottest comedy stars Jesse Metcalfe, Sophia Bush, Brittany Snow, Ashanti, and Jenny McCarthy and opens in theatres on July 28, 2006.

The John Tucker Must Die Undiscovered Band contest (www.myspace.com/johntucker) will be hosted by Stefy Rae of the new band Stefy (www.stefytheband.com). Stefy’s Wind-up Records debut will be released on August 29, 2006. Two songs from the female-fronted band Stefy will be in JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE as well as songs from The All-American Rejects, Nada Surf, Ben Lee, OK Go, People In Planes, and Motion City Soundtrack. The soundtrack will be released by Wind-up Records on July 18, 2006.

From April 6th until April 24th, unsigned bands can submit songs for consideration. From these initial submissions, 20 semi-finalists will be chosen by members of the MySpace staff. On May 1st, those 20 bands will rely on the support of their own fan bases, or MySpace ‘friends,’ to determine the top 10 finalists who will be selected on May 19th. The grand prize winner will be determined by the following panel of judges and announced on May 26th:
